Masks are currently encouraged but not required for all staff, students, instructors, and visitors to Maude Kerns Art Center. Masks will continue to be optional as long as Lane County is identified as medium or low risk by the CDC COVID - 19 Community Health Levels. If the CDC identifies Lane County as high-risk masks will become required. Students will be notified of any changes.
MKAC will not require proof of vaccination for adult students. MKAC has never required proof of vaccination for our youth or young adult students.
We have made changes to our Education Program for this upcoming term by limiting our class sizes to a maximum of 10 students for our Adult classes, 10 students for our Young Adults, and 12 students for our Youth programs.
All staff members, instructors, and education volunteers will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Exemptions may be made only for eligible medical or religious reasons. There will not be an option to opt-out for other reasons or choose testing in lieu of vaccination.

We are currently offering scholarships for 50% of the cost of tuition for classes. Scholarships are available for all age groups through the Susi Larsen & Cameron Serbu Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Madeline Christenson Scholarship Fund.
To be considered applicants must fill out the application prior to registration and payment. If awarded applicants will be contacted for the remaining payment.

Animal lovers! Join us in a fun creature-filled art adventure where you will learn to create with your imagination and from observation with special animal guests.
Do you have a budding artist? It may be time for Private Art Lessons at the Art Center! Private Lessons are available for Youth (ages 6-10) and Young Adults (ages 11-16). Lessons will include (4) one-hour sessions with an Art Center Instructor. Weekly meetings. Lessons are available in a variety of drawing and painting mediums and are customized to fit each student's creative interests and schedule.
Interested in group Private Lessons? We understand during these trying times that you may be experiencing varying degrees of comfort when it comes to being in public spaces, but that you may still be looking for moments to socialize with others.
We will now be offering Group Private Lessons for our Youth and Young Adult age ranges. These lessons will be limited to 6 students who are around the same age. The lesson will be focused on drawing and painting activities.
