  Artists, art patrons, and all those who appreciate art are invited to the Maude Kerns Art Center, 1910 E. 15th Avenue in Eugene, for an Artists' Salon potluck/meeting. Bring your artwork, slides, plays, and other creative endeavors for open critique. Please bring something to share for the potluck. Free to the public.

MAUDE I. KERNS ARTWORK

Born in 1876 and a daughter of pioneer Oregonians, Maude Irvine Kerns lived most of her life in Eugene. She held several degrees from prestigious Universities and Colleges, and was Head of Art Education at the U of O until 1947.

When not teaching future artists and art teachers, Maude Kerns experimented with a variety of media and styles. Her own work evolved from realistic landscapes and portraits to non-objective oil paintings.

During her lifetime, Maude Kerns' paintings were exhibited in Paris, Japan and other major cities in the USA, including New York, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Los Angels, Kansas City and Philadelphia. Several of these city museums have her works in their permanent collections.

Dia de los Muertos: Oct-Nov 2005
The Maude Kerns Art Center is accepting submissions for our annual Dia de los Muertos Exhibit. Work will be selected by jurors from the submitted slides. Deadline July 29, 2005.

ART AND THE VINEYARD 2005

The 22nd Annual Art & the Vineyard is the summer's top art, wine, and music festival, staged along the banks of the Willamette River in Eugene's scenic Alton Baker Park Fourth on July weekend, July 1-4.

Art & the Vineyard is open to all artists and craftspeople producing original art. Commercially produced work, art assembled from kits, or imported art and goods cannot be accepted. The festival seeks the finest quality artwork through a jury selection.

Artists' Marketplace
The Artists' Marketplace features over 100 artist booths located in the heart of the festival. The Marketplace represents the primary focus of the festival and is considered the top attraction by festival patrons.

Art For Your Garden
Art For Your Garden is a unique landscape design combining the works of talented artists to emphasize the beauty in nature and to provide ideas on how to incorporate art objects in a garden setting.

• Salon des Refusés: In conjunction with the Mayor's Art Show and the Eugene Celebration – Aug.
• Día de los Muertos: (Day of the Dead) exhibit and fiesta , Oct – Nov.
• The Jello Art Show : Featuring artwork made of jello as well as edible jello creations, Apr.
• The Annual Members' Holiday Show and Sale: Dec.
• The Duchess Award program: Which alternately honors members in our community who have track records of Excellence in Art Education or Innovation in Art.
