ARTISTS' SERVICES PROGRAM

Artists' Services Program is a FREE program developed by the Maude Kerns Art Center. Our goal is to provide artists in Lane County with resources such as free lectures, workshops and artist critiques. Our intention is to provide a supportive community for artists that encourage establishing connections and network. Lectures, workshops and artist salon meetings are held at Maude Kerns Art Center every first Monday of each month.

Artists' Registry

All Maude Kerns Art Center Members are invited to submit digital images of their artwork for our new artists registry. Please call the art center: 541-345-1571 or e-mail: staff@mkartcenter.org for more information.

To sign up to receive notes and other art opportunity listings through our Artists' Services Program list-serve, please send an e-mail to: staff@mkartcenter.org with the subject heading as "subscribe to ASP" in the subject heading and your e-mail address in the message text.

As part of the Artists' Services program, Maude Kerns Art Center publishes a quarterly “Palette” that lists the opportunities, workshops and a feature article on advice for artists. If you wish to contribute art opportunities or advice or personal experiences about the journey of being an artist, please e-mail: staff@mkartcenter.org .

Artists' Salon: Meeting First Monday of every month 7:00 pm

Artists, art patrons, and all those who appreciate art are invited to the Maude Kerns Art Center, 1910 E. 15th Avenue in Eugene, for an Artists' Salon potluck/meeting. Bring your artwork, slides, plays, and other creative endeavors for open critique. Please bring something to share for the potluck. Free to the public.

CLUB MUD: a Ceramics Cooperative

Club Mud is a not-for-profit, mutual benefit association of clay workers. The group consists of about  30 members and is located in the Maude Kerns Art Center ceramics studio (1910 East 15 avenue.  Eugene, OR. 97403). Although we work in a cooperative atmosphere, all members work  independently. The level of involvement varies from casual to full time occupation. Maude Kerns Art Center Members receive a 20% discount within the first two weeks of class for the purchase of class materials.

National Endowment for the Arts  
The National Endowment for the Arts is an independent agency of the federal government and is the nation's largest annual funds endower of the arts. Maude Kerns Art Center is supported in part by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Oregon Arts Commission   
The Oregon Arts Commission provides grant funding opportunities to support the Arts in the state of Oregon through programs which provide funding opportunities which include general operating support, project-specific support, and support for artist's professional endeavors.

University of Oregon Art Department
 
Maude Irvine Kerns, founder of the Maude Kerns Art Center, taught at the University of Oregon for 26 years until her retirement in 1947. She was the first head of the Art Education department in 1921.

The Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts, DIVA
DIVA is the manifestation of the vision of a number of local artists, business people and community leaders interested in revitalizing downtown Eugene, Oregon with a focus on the visual arts.  This highly energized collaboration of volunteers has realized incredible success with the opening of a six gallery exhibit space on the corner of Broadway and Olive which is becoming the hub of downtown arts classes, events and exhibits. Maude Kerns Art Center is proud to be a sponsor and partner with this emerging visual art center.
