This spring the Maude Kerns Art Center presents the first ever exhibit of artwork by internationally recognized Oregon writer Ken Kesey, best known as the author of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Sometimes a Great Notion.

The Exhibit features the original notebook pages that make up the Jail Journal, which Kesey produced during his six month incarceration at the San Mateo Sheriff's Honor Camp for possession of marijuana. It also includes drawings and paintings from Kesey's private collection, memorabilia, and artifacts such as the "Thunder Machine", a large sound-making machine created by Kesey for his performances. Kesey's famous bus "Further", will be driven to the Art Center for the Opening Reception.
